SACRE DU PRINTEMPS
For the third edition of the Day of the Dance, the Ghent partners join forces in order to bring together as many people as possible for a very special dance event. The group of participants come from all over Ghent and they share the desire to be part of one major dance performance. Director Alain Platel chose Le Sacre du Printemps as the starting point. In the months to come, different groups will start working and improvising on this beautiful piece of music by Igor Stravinsky. The dance coaches of the various groups met a first time during a workshop weekend in our dance studio where they started analyzing the music. Each group will be inspired differently by the music and develop their own part while they are supported in the process by les ballets C de la B’s dancers/choreographers Lisi estaras and Quan Bui Ngoc with the assitance of Eva March. In the last weeks before the performance, Lisis Estaras en Quan Bui Ngoc will mould all parts into one mass choreography. The final result will be presented on the Kouter in Ghent on 28 April 2018.
